I’m brand new to fly fishing and fishing in general. But for what it’s worth, I’ve been really happy with this set up. An acquaintance of mine who’s a veteran fisherman was impressed with the quality and feel of the rod also. I’ve only used it a couple times, but it’s been awesome. I did my research, but it’s still a relief to have all the basics set up and ready to go in one quality package. Absolutely no regrets!

I’ve wanted to learn to fly fish for years. I grew up fishing with my dad and I always thought fly fishing just looked so fun but never knew anyone who could teach me. I finally just made the commitment and did some research, bought this starter kit and went for it. I went camping on the Nehalem River in Oregon, woke up at 5:00am, had some coffee and within an hour I caught my first fish on a fly rod. I have nothing to compare it to as this is my first ever rig and experience fly fishing but I will say, everything feels pretty good and it was a ton of fun. The one bad thing I noticed is the thread on the locking mechanism to lock the reel into place is pretty sticky and has a hard time screwing up or down. I figured I’d just put some lubricant on it and it should help. I haven’t tried it yet but yeah. Everything else has been great!

I've always fished salt water big game through out the world. Getting in to my 60s I decided to take life a little slower. This was the perfect rod and reel for my first time fly fishing. They call it a beginner pole but I think it is a great pole that will last many years.
Greater starter setup for my 9yr old!
One complaint! The reel was not wound correctly; the line exited the reel at the top just below the rod. I had to manually spool all the line completely off and redo the spooling myself. I had to do that twice before the line was evenly spooled so casting was smooth. That was a bit frustrating!
I just took a flyfishing bootcamp this weekend. I am very happy with my new rod. Thanks!

For the most part it looks good and feels good,I am a beginner and I haven’t got the chance to gout and try it yet but I have a feeling that it will perform well being my first fly combo.
The pole has a really strong kerosene smell to it and honestly doesnt seem as good as the money paid.
Grand son loved it and has barely put it down since he got it, Thanks for having a great product
