A Real Shovel That Folds to Pack Size

The Tactical Folding Shovel is heavy-duty steel — not the stamped tin that folds on the first root. It packs down small enough to ride in a pack, a trunk, or behind a truck seat, then locks out solid when you need it to move dirt.

The multi-angle locking head is what makes it worth the space: straight for digging, locked at 90 degrees to work as a hoe or adze for trenching around a tent, or somewhere between for awkward ground. The serrated edge along one side cuts roots and saws small limbs, so it covers the work of a second tool you would otherwise carry.
