The Popsicle Special turns the Alaskabou dial to maximum: layered marabou in flame orange, red, and purple with black flash threaded through, swirling into the hot-and-dark gradient that gave the original Popsicle its name. It's George Cook's Bristol Bay formula in its richest dress.
The orange-to-purple blend covers two trigger zones at once—egg-hot at the core, shadow-dark at the edges—so the fly reads differently with every angle and current pulse. Kings and steelhead in big, cold water answer it on the swing, especially when flows carry color and small flies disappear.
