The Blue-Winged Olive Parachute puts the season's most important small mayfly on a parachute frame: olive body, gray hackle wound flat, and a white post overhead. It rides flush in the film like a real Baetis dun while staying visible in the gray light BWOs love to hatch in.

On the flat tailwater glides where BWO eaters do their work, the low-riding parachute profile out-fishes the hackled version more days than not.
