Beadhead RS2

he Beadhead RS2 (Rim's Semblance 2) is a highly effective nymph pattern designed to imitate emerging mayflies, midges, and other small aquatic insects. This fly excels in tailwaters and technical fisheries where trout key in on emergers just below the surface. The beadhead adds weight, allowing the fly to sink quickly into the feeding zone, making it an excellent choice for fishing deeper runs, riffles, and slower-moving pools where fish are feeding just beneath the surface film.

Tied with a slender body and subtle materials, the Beadhead RS2 presents a realistic, natural drift. The soft tail and sparse wing profile mimic the shuck of an emerging insect, triggering strikes from trout that are selectively feeding on emergers. The added flash of the beadhead provides an extra attractor, making this fly particularly effective in slightly stained water or low-light conditions.

To fish the Beadhead RS2 effectively, present it as part of a nymphing rig under a strike indicator or tight-line euro nymphing setup.
