The White Miller – Wet is an all-white classic built for one of fly fishing's most overlooked events: the Ephoron leukon hatch. These pale mayflies—the "white flies"—emerge in heavy numbers on slow Eastern and Midwestern rivers, almost always at dusk and into dark. With its white body, wing, hackle, and tail accented by a fine tinsel rib, this fly matches the hatch about as literally as a pattern can.
When the white fly is on, fish feed with abandon, and visibility becomes the whole game—for the angler and the fish. The White Miller's pale silhouette stays visible against darkening water and reads correctly from below against the last light of the sky.
