The Showgirl is the flirtatious member of George Cook's Alaskabou family—a hot pink marabou core wrapped in a flowing purple veil, finished with a red head. Same Bristol Bay DNA as the Popsicle, with the pink turned forward and the purple worn like a feather boa.
Pink-and-purple is the silver salmon combination, and the Showgirl has earned cult status on coho water from Alaska to the coast. Steelhead take it with equal conviction, particularly bright, fresh fish still carrying saltwater aggression. The all-marabou build swims huge and casts light.
Best for:
- Silver salmon fresh from the salt
- Bright steelhead on the swing
- Cold, colored water needing pulse and presence
📌 Pro Tip: For coho, add short strips to the swing—silvers love a fly that accelerates and stalls, and the Showgirl's marabou exaggerates every change of pace into a full-body flare.
