The Red Serendipity is a slim midge emerger with a twisted red body and a white deer-hair tuft—the profile of a midge pupa hanging in the surface film, half in and half out of its shuck. The red version doubles as a blood-midge match and an attractor on pressured tailwaters.
Fish it in the film behind a visible dry, or shallow under an indicator: the serendipity's whole trick is sitting exactly where emerging midges stall and trout cruise to collect them.
Best for:
- Midge emergences on tailwaters
- Film-feeding and subsurface sippers
- Dry-dropper trailer duty
📌 Pro Tip: Trail it eighteen inches behind a parachute dry—the dry is your indicator, and most takes come on the serendipity hanging in the film behind it.
