The Olive Sparrow is Jack Gartside's soft, leggy impressionist nymph in olive: pheasant-rump and marabou fibers that breathe and pulse, suggesting a dragonfly nymph, leech, or emerging insect all at once. A fly that imitates everything by imitating nothing exactly.
The soft materials make the Sparrow come alive in the water; on a slow retrieve or a twitched drift it reads as living, moving prey.
