The Montana is a time-tested black-bodied pattern with a bright yellow thorax and black hackle, a bold stonefly-nymph profile fished as a searching wet fly or small streamer.

The dark body and yellow accent imitate a big stonefly or hellgrammite, and the contrast pulls strikes from trout and panfish whether dead-drifted deep or stripped slowly.
