The Halfback is a peacock-bodied workhorse with palmered brown hackle—buggy, dark, and convincing whether it rides the surface or swims just under it. The iridescent herl body does what peacock has always done: look alive without imitating anything in particular.
Fish it dry through riffles, or let it sink at the end of the drift and swing—the half-and-half versatility is the point, and often the second half of the drift out-produces the first.
