The Dark Bucktail Caddis runs the big-winged caddis formula in autumn tones: a dark orange-brown palmered body under a full brown bucktail wing. It covers the October Caddis and the season's darker sedges with a wing that floats through water slimmer ties can't survive.

The hollow-hair wing is the engine—high-floating, durable, and visible against dark fall water in the low-angle light of the back half of the season.
