The Beadhead Caddis Nymph imitates the cased and free-living caddis larva trout eat year-round, weighted to fish the bottom: a green-olive segmented body, dark thorax, and brass bead. One of the most consistently productive subsurface flies in any box.
Caddis larvae are dislodged into the drift constantly, and the bead drops this imitation right into the feeding lane where trout expect them.
Best for:
- Year-round caddis-larva fishing
- Riffles and freestone runs
- Dropper below a dry or anchor
📌 Pro Tip: Dead-drift it on the bottom—caddis larvae tumble helplessly, so the deeper and more drag-free, the more it looks like the real dislodged worm.
